chicken and waffles

This past Sunday, the members of PCC had a fun meetup at Waffle Chic in Lynbrook. Yes, another Nassau meet up for our members to gather and enjoy! Yummy dishes like apple pie a la mode, fried chicken, or vegan shrimp, all served with warm fresh waffles. All were very tasty!! Jadia, the lone chef/worker was a bit overwhelmed by our turn out, although, was a lovely individual to our group.

PCC at the Jigsaw Run, Commack Septa and Strides for Autism Pride events

PCC recognizes that our local communities play a huge role in providing support resources for Self-Directed individual and their families. Our goal is to celebrate these communities, strengthen their bonds with our participants and create a network of support. With that in mind PCC was proud to take part in three incredible community resource and fundraising events this April.

Tom (PCC Community Connector), Tal and active PCC member Jonathan, were at the event handing out flyers and sharing information as PCC representatives.  They had so much fun under the PCC tent making connections while cheering for all the amazing runners!

Positive Community Connection's is proud to have spread some love and comfort to the children of Mount Sinai South Nassau Hospital. Our crafters from Nassau Arts and Crafting and Crafting Connections did a great job making Valentines Day cards for the children in the pediatric wing. These lovely cards made the holiday just a little extra sweet!

We encourage you to read the thank you note our members recieved from the hospital.

Puzzle Break

Our first Puzzlebreak Escape Room  fundraiser was a great success! We had over thirty people attend and raised approximately $500, more than doubling our financial goal! Most importantly, this event reached our Nassau participants, businesses and community members!

It was a fun and exciting challenge that exemplified the spirit of self-determination!
