Welcome to our fourth Speed-friending event of 2024! With a generous grant, awarded by REAL Transition Partners, PCC is proud to bring you the official PB Academy Speed-friending game! This time we are partnering with our pals at the Mid-Island Y JCC in Plainview to offer you a night full of friendship, fun and festivities. Our theme for the night is summertime fun, so get ready to meet creative people who may just share your interests, passions and warm weather memories.

-We will be playing the official PB Academy Speed-friending game! There will be a moderator (Mr.Yoga Dan) and an assistant (Mrs. Marisa) to help you learn all the rules and answer any questions.
-As part of the game you will be encouraged to share, in three minute intervals, some fun information about yourself, like what your favorite hobbies are. There are game cards that give you conversational prompts and some fun music to get you moving in the right direction.
- The game itself should last around an hour. After the game ends you will be free to mingle, make friends and grab some light snacks. Kosher snacks will be made available.
- The goal of this event is to give you the opportunity to meet people that share your interests and could potentially become a long-term friend. While we encourage open conversation we ask you to respect individuals wishes regarding sharing personal information.
For those participants who need it, support staff and caregivers can help facilitate the exchange of personal information such as phone numbers, email addresses and social media links as well as help with the game itself.
- This is not a dating event. Our goal is to encourage friendship.
